Bupsi and Alien Nation are first acts to leave The X Factor

It's been the first weekend of live shows in The X Factor, which meant that it was time to start whittling down the 13 acts.

And in tonight's results show, the first to leave the competition was Bupsi Brown.

"I've had fun," said Bupsi. "It's been a great experience and I've had a great time. I got a chance to show myself and I hope you guys enjoyed my Bupsi magic."

Bupsi's mentor Simon Cowell, who was somewhat dazed after practically being headbutted by Anton, said: "You've been amazing, but someone had to go. I'm just sorry it's you."

But while the 37 year old from Leeds was automatically ejected from the competition, she wasn't the only act to reach the end of their X Factor journey. While 10 acts – including Mason Noise and Seann Miley Moore – kept their places in the singing contestant, two other acts faced being booted off when Kiera Weathers and Alien Uncovered had to battle for survival in a sing-off.

Cheryl, of course, voted for her act Alien Uncovered, while Rita voted to keep her act Kiera, while Nick said his allegiance had switched from the girl band to the solo performer and voted to keep Kiera in the comptetion. That meant it was up to Simon to decide who should go home.

"If I have to judge this on a sing-off," he said, "there is one artist or act who was better so I have to send home Alien Nation."

He meant Alien Uncovered, obviously!
