Caroline Flack is reportedly set to join Dermot O'Leary as co-host of The X Factor when the show goes live next weekend.

The 33-year-old - who currently hosts spin-off show The XTra Factor on ITV2 - will now appear on the main programme as a 'backstage reporter', interviewing acts before and after they perform.

Although the news has not been officially confirmed by ITV Caroline's agent took to Twitter to reveal her new appointment.

"Exciting news that as well as #XtraFactor, @carolineflack1 will also present on @TheXFactor live shows, reporting backstage for @radioleary," the announcement read.

As well as her new role Caroline will continue as co-host of The XTra Factor alongside comedian Matt Richardson.

The live heats will kick off next Saturday night at 8pm with a two and a half-hour 80s themed show.
