Coronation Street actress Debra Stephenson is poised to waltz back on to our screens - in the next series of Strictly Come Dancing. Debra, who played Coronation Street's Frankie Baldwin and left after her character had an affair with her stepson, has apparently been in talks with bosses of the hit BBC1 pro-celebrity dance contest, according to the Sun. The actress, who also played Shell Dockley in ITV1's Bad Girls, is now said to be waiting to hear whether she has been accepted to take part in the show. Debra is no stranger to the BBC's reality shows. In 2005, she took part in Comic Relief Does Fame Academy on BBC1 to raise money for charity, and finished fifth in the competition. Also reported to be waiting for the green light for Strictly is EastEnders' Emma Barton. Emma, who plays Honey Mitchell, is due to film her final episodes for the BBC1 soap this summer. If Debra and Emma do win a place on the show, they will follow in the footsteps of other former soap stars including Letitia Dean, Claire Sweeney and Christopher Parker who have all taken part. Former Mis-Teeq singer Alesha Dixon won the series in 2007. The new series of Strictly Come Dancing, hosted by Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly, is due to shown on BBC1 in September.
