Colorado's Stanley Hotel was the inspiration for the Overlook Hotel, which is of course the creepy accommodation in 1980s psychological horror movie The Shining. The novel on which this film is based was penned by Stephen King after he stayed in the hotel.
The Stanley Hotel shows the uncut R-rated version of The Shining on a continuous loop on Channel 42 on guest room televisions.
The Shining is showing tonight - Tuesday 30th October - on ITV4 at 11.05pm.
The US-version of The Shining, previously unreleased in the UK and 24 minutes longer than the version originally shown in Europe, goes on release in selected UK cinemas on Friday 2nd November courtesy of the BFI.
