Daniel Day-Lewis has dedicated his Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Male Actor in a leading role to the late Heath Ledger. The British actor, who has been nominated for best actor at the Oscars, won his second statue for his portrayal of oil baron Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood. "I'm very, very proud of this. I'm very proud to be included in a group of wonderful actors," he said in his acceptance speech. "For as long as I can remember, the thing that gave me a sense of wonderment and of renewal, that dared you to go back into the arena with longing and self-doubt, has always been the work of other actors. The 50-year-old added: "Heath gave that sense of regeneration to me. In Monster's Ball, that character that he created seemed almost like an unformed being, retreating from themselves, retreating from his father and from his life, and yet, we wanted to follow him. It was unique. "And, in Brokeback Mountain, he was perfect. The scene at the end of the film was moving. I'd like to dedicate this to Heath Ledger."
