Daniel Radcliffe back as Russian doctor in Sky series

Daniel Radcliffe will dig out his medical bag once more as a second series of his quirky period comedy drama A Young Doctor's Notebook has been announced.

The Sky Arts 1 HD series, which is inspired by the works of Russian writer and playwright Mikhail Bulgakov, sees the Harry Potter star as a medic who works in a small village during the Russian revolution, while Mad Men's Jon Hamm plays the older version of the character. The new run, which premieres later this year, finds him trying to deal with his morphine addiction and the arrival of a beautiful young aristocrat Natasha, played by Margaret Clunie.

"I had absolutely no hesitation in agreeing to do a second series of A Young Doctor's Notebook," says Daniel. "I had an incredible time working with the multi-talented Jon Hamm and, of course, I am a huge fan of Mikhail Bulgakov's work and so was thrilled and cannot wait to commence filming this summer.”
