Strictly Come Dancing contender Danny Mac said he argued with show producers about undoing all his shirt buttons and said it wouldn't have helped his chances
Sorry, Danny Mac fans, but he won’t be revealing his ripped physique while he’s on Strictly Come Dancing. Well, not all of it...
The Hollyoaks hunk, 28, has so far been seen dancing during the programme with some of his chest – but not all – on show.
And he’s now explained that he had to stand up to BBC bosses about it, especially over his steamy rumba routine a few weeks ago with his professional partner Oti Mabuse.
He told the Daily Mirror: “I’m weary of just stripping my kit off – I’m there to dance. With the rumba they said it had to be quite sexy, so would I mind undoing a few buttons?
“They wanted my shirt to go completely open, but I said, ‘no, can we just keep a button done up’.

“And I think it worked better, because I maintained that dignity, and also you’re dancing, which isn’t the most comfortable feeling anyway, so the last thing you want to do is have your shirt wide open.”
He added: “I don’t think having my top off’s going to help me get through, it’s about the dancing.”
Danny and Oti will be attempting the most popular dance style on the BBC series this weekend, as they’ll be doing the Argentine Tango to I Heard it Through the Grapevine by Marvin Gaye.
