Diana Vickers is heading for No 1 with her debut single. The X Factor finalist has pushed past her closest rival Chipmunk and the rapper's duet with Dutch singer Esmee Denters, according to midweek figures, with her new track Once. The Official Charts Company said Cheryl Cole's former protege is selling 40 per cent more copies of her single than Until You Were Gone, the Chipmunk track. Diana, 18, caught the headlines after getting close to fellow contestant Eoghan Quigg on the 2008 X Factor and was even compared to Marmite on the show before being beaten by Alexandra Burke. She releases her debut album Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree on May 3. The UK's current No 1, Usher and Will.I.Am's OMG, is expected to topple from the top spot while Paul Weller's latest record Wake Up Nation, is tipped for No 1 in the album charts on Sunday.
