Look who’s coming with her…
We already know Tamzin Outhwaite is returning as iconic EastEnders character Melanie Owen, but it’s been revealed she won’t be alone.
It seems Steve Owen’s legacy lives on as Melanie will be joined by their 15-year-old son Hunter!
Loyal viewers will remember Melanie was pregnant with her and Steve’s baby when she left the Square in 2002, shortly after his death. But until now it’s not been known what happened afterwards.
Actor Charlie Winter said of landing the role: ‘I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be on such an iconic show as EastEnders.
‘It still feels really surreal that this has happened. It’s an exciting time for me and I can’t wait to get stuck in and for everyone to meet Hunter.’
Although it’s not clear on what basis Melanie is being brought back, something tells us it won’t be long before she and Hunter are running the Square – especially if he’s anything like his dad…
