Emu - the puppet Michael Parkinson referred to as 'that bloody bird' - is to make a return to TV in October. Emu, formerly an appendage of the late Rod Hull, is to appear in a new children's series on CITV and ITV1. Emu is best known for his appearance on Parkinson's chat show in the 1970s - he continually attacked Parky until the host fell off his chair, a scene that has hovered over his career like an albatross. He also ate the Queen Mother's bouquet at the Royal Variety Performance in 1972.
