Hammer comes to Hackney | Shane Briant and his former co-stars host a special one-off fanfest in London's East End

Remember the old Hammer films Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell and Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter? Well, there's a one-off event happening in Hackney, East London on 15 October celebrating the horror classics.

Shane Briant, who appeared in scores of TV films and features before setting up home in Australia in the mid-1980s, is flying into London to meet up with his former Hammer glamour co-stars Caroline Munro, Lois Daine and Madeline Smith at the event, in which he will talk about working for the studio in classic horrors like Monster from Hell, and in the cult chillers Straight on Till Morning and Demons of the Mind.

Hammer historian Wayne Kinsey, author of a number of celebrated tomes about the studio, including Hammer Films: The Unsung Heroes, will lead the discussions; while other fan favourites including Yvonne Romain (Curse of the Werewolf) will also be in attendance.

The event will take place from 10am-5pm at The Round Chapel, Powerscroft Road, Hackney, London, E5 0PU. Tickets are £30 and available through Donald Fearney (Tel: 0208-806-6915).
