Jamelia reveals she 'knew we were going home' before Strictly vote happened

Jamelia has revealed she knew she was on her way out of Strictly Come Dancing, once she realised extra audience footage has been filmed of Peter Andre’s performance.

But the Superstar singer, who found herself in the dance-off against fellow pop star and TV presenter Peter at the weekend, said she bears no ill will towards him after being voted off despite getting a higher score on the judges’ leaderboard.

The Loose Women star said on Strictly’s spin-off show It Takes Two: “I think we did a great last dance. But it wasn’t until they re-recorded Pete’s standing ovation, I’d say that was the moment we knew we were going home.”

She also tweeted, amidst rumours she was 'a sore loser': “I have absolutely nothing against Pete whatsoever…& I am not a liar.”

Thanks so much for your support & kind words! I had an absolute blast…& I wish nothing but the best for Pete, Janette & Everyone else! ❤️

Jamelia – who was partnered with Tristan MacManus – was sent home by three of the judges despite achieving a higher score, with Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli all opting to save Peter and his dance partner Janette Manrara.

Head judge Len Goodman said he would have saved Jamelia, telling host Tess Daly: “I thought Jamelia and Tristan did a very, very fine Quickstep and I would have brought you back.”

A BBC spokeswoman confirmed extra shots were filmed following Peter’s performance, but said it is 'standard practice'.

She said: “Following Peter’s performance in the dance-off, for which he received a standing ovation from the audience, continuity shots were taken during a break in filming to reset the dance floor.

“These extra opportunities to capture audience reaction are standard practice in recording TV shows of this nature.”

James Jordan, a former professional dancer on Strictly, has spoken out about Peter’s continued success and his prominent slots on the show.

He previously said: “I love Peter, but I wonder if he will open or close every show? Fairness.”

I love Peter and Janette, in fact I want them to win even now. But, on that dance alone I would have saved Jamelia and I'm not a fan of hers
