Benidorm star Johnny Vegas has a new sitcom coming to BBC2 this summer. In Home From Home, Johnny will play a man who's had the long-held dream of buying a place in the Lake District. When he finally achieves his ambition, the years of scrimping and saving all feel worth it - until he meets his eccentric neighbours!
Home from Home is written by Chris Fewtrell and Simon Crowther and will also star Gavin & Stacey's Joanna Page, Silent Witness actress Emilia Fox and Doctor Foster star Adam James.
Another BBC2 sitcom, Motherland, was also announced today. It’s a show about navigating the trials and traumas of middle-class motherhood and is written by Graham Linehan, Sharon Horgan, Helen Linehan and Holly Walsh. Casting details will be revealed at a later date.

I'm a huge fan of TV so I've found the perfect job, writing about telly shows and interviewing major television, film and sports stars for over 30 years. I'm currently the TV Content Director on What's On TV, TV Times, TV and Satellite Week magazines plus contribute to Whattowatch.com. I previously worked on Woman and Woman's Own in the 1990s. Outside of work I swim every morning, support Charlton Athletic football club and get nostalgic about TV shows Cagney & Lacey, I Claudius, Dallas, Tenko and I'm quite partial to a bit of Little House on The Prairie. I'm totally on top of everything good coming up too, and love newer shows such as The Day Of The Jackal, This is Us, Hacks and anything Dexter.
