Jonathan Ross could be following in the footsteps of his wife Jane Goldman by seeing one of his superhero stories on the big screen. Director Matthew Vaughn, who collaborated with Jane on hit films Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class, told influential film blog Deadline that he was hoping to make a film based on a comic book written by film and comics buff Jonathan. He said a big Hollywood studio had registered their interest in making The Golden Age, and that he was hoping to cast Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson and Warren Beatty in the film, which will be based on Jonathan's forthcoming graphic novel of the same name. The story is said to be about superheroes who come out to retirement to help their grandchildren save the world. Matthew told the blog that The Golden Age would continue in the vein of recent films The Expendables and Red. "You have these great star names and they're mainly playing supporting roles now. I want to give them the lead again and let them have some fun," he said. Since leaving the BBC last year, Jonathan has published a series of comic books called Turf, set in Prohibition era New York.
