Katie Price in emergency hospital dash

Reality TV star Katie Price has been rushed to hospital after falling ill while on holiday.

The glamour model and businesswoman, who is due to give birth to her fourth child in 10 weeks, sought help after becoming convinced she had gone into labour early.

Doctors in the country where she is holidaying - which has not been revealed but is on the continent - later discovered she was suffering from an infection which could result in her having to give birth early to avoid damage to her unborn child.

As a result Katie has had to stay in hospital, and could welcome her newest child into the world as early as next week.

"Katie is now hooked up to drips and heart monitors in a country where she doesn't speak the language and doesn't know anyone," a source told The Sun.

"She was told she had no choice but to stay, or risk her child's life. Of course, she stayed. The doctors have told her they are doing everything they can and the baby should be OK provided they can keep Katie stable, prevent infection and delay the labour."

Katie's other children Princess and Junior have now gone on holiday to Australia with their dad Peter Andre, while her husband Kieran Hayler has stayed with her.

The model wed Kieran in the Bahamas on January 16 after a whirlwind romance before she announced in February that she was pregnant.

She had previously attempted to start a family with her ex-husband Alex Reid as well as Argentinian model Leandro Penna, whom she dated for 20 months after splitting from Alex.
