Five to Five beat Nightfall and Drive to win role in new Take That musical

The viewing public have crowned Five to Five winners of Let It Shine which means the five lads – AJ Bentley, Curtis T Johns, Nick Carsberg, Sario Solomon and Yazdan Qafouri – have a year’s contract as stars of Gary Barlow’s new touring musical inspired by Take That songs.

They won with performances of You Can’t Stop the Beat from Hairspray and Miley Cyrus’s Wrecking Ball.

“That was the most intense moment of my entire life,” said band member Sario afterwards. “I felt the rest of our lives were hanging over that star.”

Host Graham Norton said: “I hope you do like each other because you’re going to be spending a lot of time together.”

Some would say that the Let It Shine final show was stolen by comedian Peter Kay, who was called in to replace Robbie Williams as a guest judge when Robbie became ill and sat with head judge Gary, plus fellow judges Martin Kemp and Dannii Minogue.

Peter was dressed a lot like X Factor contestant Honey G but called himself Honey P.

And some viewers enjoyed his contribution so much they thought he should judge everything…
