Michael Caine or Ben Mitchell? EastEnders fans joke actor is in Walford

Viewers were left stunned buy huge similarity between the legendary actor and Ben Mitchell

EastEnders fans were left slightly confused after Friday night's episode as they noticed something about Ben Mitchell.

Following his return to the square, Ben - who is now played by Max Bowden - could be seen telling his dad's employee Keanu Taylor to go ahead with a business plan.

Keanu had agreed to a do a job for Ben's dad Phil, however, hadn't anticipated that it would involve human trafficking.

As he protested driving the lorry containing two girls, Ben demanded he continue his work.

Fans soon commented on his 'cruel' demeanour, but there was something else that several viewers began to notice about the actor as they rushed to Twitter.

As Ben talked, viewers commented that he sounded a lot like cockney actor Michael Caine - who is known for his distinctive voice.

Rushing to Twitter, fans joked that the Cockney actor had joined the soap after hearing Ben talking.

"Why has Ben turned into Michael Caine?" one asked.

"Ben turning into Michael Caine," Another said.

"Ben doing his finest Michael Caine there," one wrote, sharing an hilarious meme.

"This new Ben Mitchell is Michael Caine - he’ll be telling Keanu he was 'only meant to blow the bloody doors off!' next!” a third wrote, referencing Michael's 2018 book about his professional life.

So far, Ben's return to square has been full of dram.

As well as putting his foot down with Keanu, Ben was seen trying to keep Lola Pearce - who is the mother of his child - and his adopted brother Jay Brown apart, as their past romance appeared to be blossoming once more.

It’s then that Ben dropped Lola’s secret that she’s been hiding since her return last month.

Ben, Lola and their daughter Lexi are back in Walford seemingly to play happy families with the Mitchells.

But embittered Ben has a secret agenda to earn his father’s trust just so he can fleece him financially and ruin his life.

So it's little wonder he doesn't want Lola and Jay to rekindle their romance and spoil his plans...
