Actor Phil Daniels has become the first person to get the boot from the sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing. The former EastEnders star and partner Flavia Cacace had to perform their waltz again on Sunday night's show in an effort to stay in the competition, after finding themselves in the bottom two with actor Don Warrington and Lilia Kopylova. And for a while it looked as though they might survive, with both Craig Revel Horwood and Arlene Phillips voting for Phil and Flavia to stay. "They both made mistakes in the dance-off," Revel Horwood told them, "but I'm going for the couple that made the least mistakes. However Bruno Tonioli turned things round by voting for Don and Lilia - leaving the casting vote to Len Goodman. "It is very difficult to judge between a waltz which needs so much control and a cha cha cha which needs so much more rhythm," Goodman said. "But of the two I've just seen the cleanest one was Don and Lilia." Both Phil and Don had been near the bottom of the scoreboard on Saturday night's show, with Phil scoring just 20 points from the judges. Earlier in the week, he had told The Sun that he did not want to be the first to go. "If you get knocked out early it's really annoying because you've just sussed out how to do it," he said. Next week's show will see the ladies - who appeared this week in a group routine - perform in the competition for the first time.
