Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt has been named Queen of the Jungle as she emerged victorious from I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!

The 26-year-old, a front-runner for the title since early in the series, looked stunned as presenters Ant and Dec said she had beaten comedian Joel Dommett to the crown.

“I feel dizzy,” she said, as she sat on her throne. “I can’t believe it. Oh my God.”

She was crowned by Vicky Pattison, who won the previous series of the ITV programme.

Scarlett had been a fan of I’m A Celebrity since she was 10 and said she never dreamed she would one day win it.

“I might be the only person to say this but I wish I could do it all again,” she said.

Asked if it met her expectations, she said: “It’s exceeded them beyond anything that I thought.

“I’ve never felt so happy.

“I just feel like I’m not going to be scared of anything any more.”

Comedian Joel said he was thrilled just to make it to the last round and admitted he thought he had been 'thoroughly unentertaining'.

He said Scarlett was the right winner and he had thought she would secure the crown.

“She is the best human being I have ever met,” he said.

He said he was going to miss the 'simplicity' of living without news or social media and joked that he was looking for a sister show named I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Back In There!

Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas finished third and said it had been 'amazing'.

After watching a montage of his jungle highlights, he added: “What an experience. I would not have changed any of that for the world.”

During his time on the show, Adam earned the nickname 'Mr Bushtucker Trial' for being nominated for 11 challenges, and he won 49 stars for the team.

“I just faced every fear possible,” he said.

The final episode saw the trio tackling individual challenges to win a lavish feast for their last night around the campfire.

Ant and Dec told a scared-looking Scarlett she had been selected for the Cavern of Claws, which involved collecting stars inside a sealed cave that was full of water and jungle critters.

She looked terrified but insisted she was determined to give it a go, saying: “I can feel myself getting upset, but I feel if I can do this I might finally be able to go in lifts, because I was on the 34th floor out here and I walked the stairs because I can’t stand small space.”

Whimpering and tearful, she secured her stars despite rats, cockroaches and crickets being poured on her.

Joel, 30, won his feast by munching through stomach-churning fare such as a dead hawk moth, a pig’s snout and fish eyes.

He was able to pick delicious treats over the jungle tucker, but only collected stars for the less-than-appetising dishes.

One choice was between goat penis and testicles or New York cheesecake.

“What kind of a decision is that? Look at the consistency of the base,” he cried.

Sniffing the cheesecake, he whispered tenderly to it: “I’ll see you in a day, wait up for me.”

Adam was not surprised to hear his final task involved spiders.

The actor, 28, has an extreme phobia of the critters and sought hypnotherapy to help him combat his fear before heading into the jungle.

Showing just how far he had come, he kept his cool as he put on a helmet filled with creepy crawlies, including spiders, that scurried over his face.

Earlier in the show, before the winner was announced, Scarlett said being crowned queen would make her feel that being 'a bit weird' does not matter.

The TV star said she had always felt like an outsider and winning would be a big vote of confidence.

She said: “As a kid, this will come as a surprise to you, I’ve always been a bit weird and I wasn’t accepted in a lot of social groups.

“So I feel that if I won I would be showing my little sister that it doesn’t matter, you can just be you.”
