Strictly's Brendan Cole in hospital with lung infection hours before performance
Strictly Come Dancing pro Brendan Cole has revealed he was forced to rush to hospital with a lung infection hours before tonight’s show
Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Brendan Cole, who is partnering singer Anastacia in this year’s competition, has been treated in hospital for a lung infection but says he has been cleared to perform tonight, although he might be “coughing and spluttering” during the pair’s rumba.
In a series of posts on Twitter, the professional dancer said he had to go to hospital as he was having breathing difficulties.
Brendan praised the care he had received as “incredible”.
Anastacia has suffered from her own injury woes during the series. She tore scar tissue from a double mastectomy in 2013 during training and was forced to sit out the bottom two dance-off in week two.
The pair will be dancing the rumba to The Way We Were by Barbra Streisand in Saturday night’s show.
Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight on BBC1, 6.30pm.
