This cult film from 1980 is loved for its music and its car chases, but most of all for its style.

Comedians John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd star as "Joliet" Jake Blues and Elwood Blues, the soul-music-loving duo created by the stars for their Saturday Night Live TV show in 1978.

It’s always a sign that a film has reached cult status when people turn up at fancy dress parties wearing the movie garb.

I’ve lost track of how many men I’ve seen over the years trussed up as the Blues Brothers in those suits, sunspecs and hats –it’s a classic look, iconic and simple.

Or is it?
