She might have moved to Los Angeles to boost her acting career, but Lucy Davis has admitted she still hasn't mastered the American accent. The 34-year-old star of The Office is back on our screens this week in US drama Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip (More4, Thursday) alongside Matthew Perry. But she told the Daily Express: "I can't do an American accent to save my life. I've had so many lessons and I'm getting better but I just sound a bit less like Mary Poppins." Lucy remembered a particularly embarrassing casting call, where the accent failed her. "When I was first here about three years ago, I went up for a part with an American accent. I did the scene and they said: 'That's great, can you do it again in an American accent?' And I went: 'Yeah, of course'. "It was rubbish. I'm quite good at dialects within England but for some reason this one is eluding me," she added.
