Stevie McCrorie has called time on his music career less than a year after winning The Voice.
The news comes just as this year's series reaches its final stages.
Steve, 31, is returning full-time to his old job at Kirkcaldy fire station in Fife so that he can provide for his wife Amy, 29, and daughter Bibi, three.
And he's no longer on the books of music PR firm APB, whose A-list acts include Taylor Swift, Elton John and Florence And The Machine.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We are delighted that Stevie McCrorie is remaining as a member of our staff and we welcome him back after his break,” the Mirror reported.
The singer-songwriter wowed judges with his performances on the Saturday night show last year, before winning the public vote under the guidance of his coach, Ricky Wilson.
But despite the victory, Steve was struggling to make a living from music.
His winning single, Lost Stars, debuted at number six on the UK Singles Chart.
But when he released his album, Big World, in January this year, it entered the charts at a disappointing 35.
Last weekend, Steve returned to The Voice and performed a track from his album but mainstream radio stations have largely blanked his music.

Steve dropped a hint that his career was not progressing well in an interview on ITV Scotland on March 21, when he said of being a firefighter: "If I go back, it's not because I have given up, I am just looking after my family.
It's believed he will continue to sing part-time on the local music circuit in Fife.
The Voice winners have repeatedly failed to forge a major singing career.
Leanne Mitchell, who won the first series in 2012, failed to rank any higher than number 45 in the UK Singles Chart with her debut song.
Meanwhile, Andrea Begley, who won the following year, saw her first single reach number 30 in the charts, but her follow-up placed at 113.
And Jermaine Jackman - the 21-year-old student from Hackney, East London who won in 2014 - saw his album sell only 613 copies.
A spokesman for APB confirmed: "Stevie is no longer one of our clients."
