ITV has announced the line-up for the first series of The Voice UK since its move from BBC1 and it features the return of Sir Tom Jones

ITV has announced the return of Sir Tom Jones to The Voice UK judging line-up, who'll be joined by Oscar-winning actor and singer Jennifer Hudson and British rock star Gavin Rossdale.

Sir Tom was controversially not invited back to the show this year, but he will rejoin The Voice UK alongside perennial Will.i.am for the first series since the switch to ITV.

Sir Tom said: "I’m looking forward to returning to my big red chair on The Voice UK. I had some great times on the show and I can’t wait to again discover and help some brand new talent. And of course be back with my pal will.i.am.”

Gavin, formerly married to Gwen Stefani, is the frontman for UK rock group Bush and his combined record sales in the US alone are almost 20 million.

He said: "I am so thrilled to be joining The Voice UK. I have always been extremely proud to fly the flag for British rock music and I can’t wait to join this incredible panel and help discover some new talent.”

Jennifer first tasted success when she made the final of American Idol in 2004, but her subsequent career eclipsed that. In 2007 she won best supporting actress awards at the Oscars and the Baftas and two years later picked up a Grammy for her album, Jennifer Hudson.

She said: "I couldn’t be more excited to join the amazing panel of coaches on The Voice UK! The UK has always been so supportive of me since the beginning of my career so I’m really looking forward to sharing my point of view with the contestants and especially Team JHUD.

"Discovering new artists has always been important to me and the UK has no shortage of talent, so I can only imagine what this experience will be like for everyone involved. I can’t wait to get going and start developing each individual’s own sound!”

Siobhan Greene, Head of Entertainment, ITV Network, said the company was 'absolutely chuffed to bits' with the line-up for the launch of The Voice UK on ITV.

She continued: “All four coaches are global artists in the music industry and are at the top of their game.

“They've got very different personalities and reasons for sitting in those chairs, but they are united in their desire to find a star."

The Voice UK will be presented by Emma Willis and will screen on ITV early next year and the winner will scoop a recording contract with Polydor Records.
