We’ve taken all the characters in this drama to our hearts, and emotions are running high as the search for George continues. While his poor parents, Harry and Mary, gamely attempt to maintain a stiff upper lip, local insurgents, and even their servant Yusra, come under suspicion of kidnapping the boy. As the men head out in a sandstorm to track him down, Ed and Joe also try out their own methods to find him, but danger soon strikes…Meanwhile, Alison’s having an equally desperate time over her unwanted pregnancy, and a visit to the doctor delivers another shock. If only she’d stop playing that heart-breaking song Love Letters – she even gets Honor to sing it for her this week! Rating: ****
Your Song, 9.00pm, ITV
It’s always nice to do something for those in life who selflessly do things for others, or who are having a tough time and just need a treat. And that’s exactly what you can expect from this Surprise Surprise-style show, hosted by Emma Willis. The brainchild of Simon Cowell, Your Song sees ordinary people who’ve done extraordinary things being surprised at their schools and workplaces with the performance of a lifetime from their favourite recording artist. It’s emotional and heart-warming in equal measure and you’ll want to have a Kleenex handy. “I do try not to cry,” says Emma, “but you get really connected to these people and their stories.” Rating: ****
Louis Theroux: Dark States, 9.00pm, BBC2
Louis Theroux’s powerful series examining three American cities ravaged by crime and drugs concludes with a visit to Milwaukee, which has a shockingly high rate of gun incidents. He joins the city’s police as they patrol District 5, an area with a homicide rate that’s way above the national average, and Louis is appalled to witness the immediate aftermath of a murder. He also meets a community activist who has left a gang and turned her life around, and accompanies police as they attend what could turn out to be an incident of self-defence. Devastating, shocking viewing with some graphic scenes. Rating: ****
