Tony Hadley's favourite to replace Nick Grimshaw on The X Factor judging panel

Tony Hadley is favourite to replace Nick Grimshaw on The X Factor judging panel in 2016.

Bookmaker Ladbrokes currently has the Spandau Ballet singer at odds of 10/1 if the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show DJ is sacked or quits next year.

Tony’s profile has risen significantly following his memorable stint in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle.

The New Romantic star lasted 20 days and finished in sixth place. During his time on the ITV show, he frequently clashed with Lady Colin Campbell (dubbed Lady C) and forged a friendship with Dragons’ Den entrepreneur Duncan Bannatyne.

Tony, who has been with Spandau since 1976, has some inside experience of how talent shows work. He won ITV’s 2003 series Reborn In The USA, hosted by Davina McCall.

The show, which included Dollar, former EastEnders star Michelle Gayle and Lee John of Imagination, took 10 British pop acts to the US in the hope of revitalising their music career.

Former Take That singer Robbie Williams is perennially rumoured for The X Factor panel.

The odds of the 41-year-old following band mate Gary Barlow are currently at 12/1, but stranger things have happened.

Radio 1′s Nick hasn’t had an easy ride on Simon Cowell’s hit show.

He has been criticised by fans of the show on social media and few will forget his awkward clash with contestant Anton Stephans, who went on dismiss him as 'just a radio DJ with famous friends'.

Addressing the issue head-on, Nick said he expected to be hated by viewers because 'Louis Walsh is so loved'.
