TV comedy legend in sex abuse quiz

A TV comedy legend in his 70s is reportedly the latest person to be investigated by police working on Operation Yewtree.

Although the man - described in the press as a 'household name' - has not been arrested, reports have suggested that police are preparing to interview him under caution.

He is apparently being investigated after allegations of historic sexual abuse were made against him.

Police have refused to confirm the identity of the comedian, while the press have also refrained from revealing his name.

A number of famous names have been arrested, charged and questioned under caution in connection with Operation Yewtree, which was set up in the wake of sexual allegations against the late Jimmy Savile.

Comedians Freddie Starr and Jim Davidson, pop star Gary Glitter, DJ Dave Lee Travis and TV presenter Rolf Harris are among those who have also been arrested as part of the ongoing investigations.

Publicist Max Clifford, who was also arrested in December 2012, has since been charged with 11 counts of indecent assault, including one against a 14-year-old girl.

He has strenuously denied the allegations and vowed to clear his name.
