Best TV shows on TV tonight
The Late Late Show London with James Corden, 10pm, Sky Comedy/NOW
James Corden brings his US chat show home for four special, star-studded episodes with a distinctly British flavour. Filmed at London’s Freemason’s Hall and showing from Tuesday to Friday this week, guests joining James were still tightly under wraps. But with famous faces such as Sir Paul McCartney, Adele, Tom Cruise and Chris Hemsworth already under his Late Late belt, expectations are sky high - especially as the Gavin and Stacey star recently announced he’s hanging up his talk show mic next year after eight glorious years of interviews, sketches and carpool karaoke.
★★★★ ER
Only Murders in the Building, season 2, Disney Plus
The second run of the acclaimed comedy drama sees Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez make a welcome return for more homicidal hilarity as amateur sleuths and podcasters Charles, Oliver and Mabel. Unfortunately, the bickering trio are now on the wrong side of the law and under suspicion following the demise of Bunny, the president of the board at their Big Apple apartment block. But can they prove their innocence and uncover the truth? With another compelling whodunnit to keep us guessing and some wonderful star turns from Shirley MacLaine, Amy Schumer and Cara Delevingne, this is high-quality escapist fun.

Bake Off: The Professionals, 8pm, C4
It’s Chocolate Week, which usually means confectionery catastrophes every which way you look, as the sweet stuff never quite behaves how the pastry chefs would like. First up, the four remaining teams are tasked with making 24 spherical chocolate desserts and 24 chocolate desserts celebrating spring. The Showpiece must be inspired by ‘Tales of the High Seas’ and include 48 chocolate bars and a moving part, so man the rigging, scrub the decks and cross your sticky fingers no one sinks...

Cooking with the Stars, season 2, 8pm, ITV
The five remaining celebrities take on French cuisine this week – ooh la la! While we can’t give any spoilers, we can reveal that timings are more critical than ever, as one celeb risks not presenting anything at all to the judging chefs, while another makes a gamble with scallops that may – or may not– pay off. And, without naming names, one of the most focused stars this series is desperate to impress, but can he cook his chicken correctly and reduce his sauce enough? Mouth-watering telly.

Citizen Ashe: Storyville, 10pm, BBC Four
A timely Storyville profile of trailblazing tennis champion Arthur Ashe, winner of three Grand Slam titles, including Wimbledon in 1975, and the first Black player selected for the US Davis Cup team. He was also a gentle but defiant activist, devoted to the Civil Rights movement and fighting global oppression. And he lent the same sense of drive he had throughout his career to raising AIDS awareness after his own HIV-positive diagnosis.

Best box set to watch on TV tonight
Obi-Wan Kenobi, Disney Plus
Obi-Wan Kenobi has broken Disney Plus viewing records and now all six thrilling episodes are available to watch. The series has wowed critics since it debuted on our screens last month, but while fans have reacted positively to Ewan McGregor’s return, it’s a 10-year-old girl who’s stolen the show. Young Princess Leia, played by breakout star Vivien Lyra Blair, has captivated viewers while becoming the beating heart of this latest chapter in the space saga. With iconic figures such as Darth Vader also added to the mix, this is on course to be Disney’s most popular foray into the Star Wars universe and rumours of a second series are already swirling.
Best film to watch on TV tonight
Rocky Balboa, 9pm, ITV4
There were diminishing returns with the sequels after 1976’s Oscar-winner Rocky, but this one, 30 (30!) years after the original, started a reversal of that trend which continued with Creed. Yes, it’s slightly ridiculous that an ageing Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) would get back in the ring, but suspend your disbelief and there’s a lot to enjoy, from Rocky’s relationship with his son (This Is Us’s Milo Ventimiglia) to Bill Conti’s rousing theme. Creed 3 (minus Stallone) is due for release later this year.
