Veteran TV and radio broadcaster Robert Robinson, best known as host of the game show Call My Bluff , has died aged 83. Robinson, whose career spanned five decades, passed away at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London, after a long period of ill-health. His daughter Susie told the BBC News website, "He had a very long, productive and successful life and we'll all miss him terribly." During his time on TV and radio Robinson fronted a host of shows including celebrity panel game Call My Bluff and the quiz show Ask The Family - in which teams of parents and children competed against each other. Born in Liverpool, the Oxford graduate began life as a journalist and TV critic before making his mark on radio as the host of Radio 4's Today programme. However he soon found his niche in hosting quiz shows after complaining that he had become bored of interviewing politicians. As well as his TV work he was also well-known for fronting the long-running Radio 4 show Brain Of Britain, a role he only retired from in 2010. Robinson, who was married to actress Josee Richard for 40 years, is survived by a son and two daughters - one of whom, actress Lucy Robinson, has appeared in TV shows including Cold Feet and Doc Martin.
