Big Brother controversy: Helen Wood compares Brian Belo to a 'rapist and murderer'

Big Brother contestant Helen Wood has sparked controversy yet again – with complaints pouring in after she compared a fellow housemate to a rapist and murderer.

Helen caused anger during the last Channel 5 series, which she went on to win, when Ofcom received 3,784 complaints, many about her behaviour and allegations of bullying.

Now the communications watchdog is deciding whether to investigate after receiving 1,100 more complaints about Helen after she said during last night’s show that Brian Belo looked like a rapist and a murderer.

She told Brian: “Brian you look like a rapist, you look like a murderer, murderer slash rapist.”

An Ofcom spokesman said: “Ofcom has received 1,100 complaints about Big Brother on Channel 5 on June 24th. We will assess these complaints before deciding whether to investigate or not.”

Brian, another former winner who triumphed in 2007, quit the show following the row.

He climbed over the garden wall to escape barely a week after he was brought back to the house with Wood and another ex-Big Brother star, Nikki Grahame.

The row, which resulted in Helen being given a formal warning, saw Brian describe her as having 'no principles, morals or self-respect'while she taunted him: “Straitjackets in the store room. Psycho.”

Speaking in the Diary Room after the argument, he said: “I feel like I’m being ganged up on. I don’t want to cry. I’ve tried to keep away from there.

“I shouldn’t have come back here. This is really hard. I feel like I’m living in hell. I’m defeated. I’m getting a barrage of abuse.”

Afterwards he told Nikki: “I just feel degraded,” before quitting the Channel 5 show.

Meanwhile former housemate Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace has entered the house, and has already started arguing with her nemesis Helen.

The 36-year-old, who first appeared on the show in 2006, arrived in typically dramatic fashion, jumping out of a giant “present” in a Santa outfit.

She made her feelings about Helen clear from the off, calling her a basic b***h, but later back-tracked, saying she didn’t want to create a negative atmosphere for her fellow housemates.

But Helen was having none of it, accusing Aisleyne of making another 'Nelson Mandela' speech.
