Teenage breakdancer George Sampson has been named the winner of the second series of Britain's Got Talent. The 14-year-old won the public vote ahead of nine other acts who had been chosen from five semi-finals held earlier this week. As a result, he wins a cash prize of £100,000 pounds as well as having the chance to perform in front of the Prince Of Wales at this year's Royal Variety Performance. Dance duo Signature - who combined bhangra moves with Michael Jackson impersonations - were runners-up, while teenage operatic singer Andrew Johnston came third. George, from Warrington, entered Britain's Got Talent last year but failed to make it to the semi-finals. However he returned this year after taking the judges' advice on board - and had been universally praised by the panel, with Simon Cowell calling his act "phenomenal". George appeared speechless after being announced as the winner. "You've changed my life, I couldn't ask for anything else," he told Ant and Dec. And judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan gave him a standing ovation. "George, let me tell you, you are the dancing version of Rocky," Cowell said. "You deserve everything because you've battled your way to the top, and congratulations." The other acts in the final included preteen dance duo Cheeky Monkeys, 'canine freestyle' act Kate Nicholas and her dog Gin, and 12-year-old opera singer Faryl Smith - who had been the bookies' favourite to win the series. Electronic string quartet Escala, martial arts duo Strike, Glaswegian plumber turned singer Andrew Muir and dance quintet Nemisis made up the remaining acts in the final.
