Call The Midwife star Helen George has admitted that she did not relish having to pucker up for her on-screen romance.
The actress plays nurse Trixie Franklin, who has taken a shine to Reverend Tom (Jack Ashton) in the hit BBC One period drama.
Asked whether she enjoyed the on-screen romance, she told the Radio Times: "I find it really nerve-racking.
"Tom was my first screen kiss and it was mortifying - all the crew were there wolf-whistling.
"And watching yourself kissing is the weirdest thing ever."
She said of the success of Call the Midwife: "After the first episode of this series we were all saying how crazy it was to get such a ridiculously high figure three years in.
"There's always a sense of waiting for people to go, 'Actually, we're over this now,' but luckily that hasn't happened yet."
