Look who's guest-starring in this week’s Casualty? It’s Corrie villain, Neil Clifton (aka actor Ben Cartwright). But is he playing a villain or a victim?

Casualty’s guest star performances are a thing of joy. Where else can you see Antony Costa from Blue pop up for a one-off, or Cagney & Lacey’s Sharon Gless steal the show?

This week Coronation Street fans are in for a treat when Ben Cartwright guest stars as loving father Felix Barstow in Casualty.

Ben 39, is probably best known for his role as evil copper Neil Clifton in Coronation Street. Since his arrival in Weatherfield in 2017 Neil has been part of nasty Nathan Curtis’ child grooming gang, which targeted vulnerable Bethany Platt. Neil’s now languishing in jail while his daughter Kayla, who believes he’s innocent, has been busy plotting a shock revenge on Bethany and her policeman pal, Craig Tinker!

Fortunately Ben, who also starred in EastEnders as Tony Jamison in 2003 and Hatfields & McCoys with Hollywood star Kevin Costner in 2012, has not been typecast… In this week's Casualty viewers will see caring dad Felix floored when his son Aden is admitted to Holby ED, after becoming the victim of a vicious homophobic assault. Heartbroken widower Felix wants to know why his son couldn’t confide in him about being gay, and is desperately hoping Aden pulls through.

Meanwhile, consultant Elle Gardner locks horns with clinical lead, Connie Beauchamp over Aden's treatment.

With his life hanging in the balance Elle wants to wait for Aden’s results, while Connie wants Aden immediately operated on in her shiny, new trauma theatre! Will domineering Connie’s ambition result in Felix losing his son?
