Honor Blackman is set to make a guest appearance in Casualty playing a feisty pensioner on a mission.
The star, who made her name in The Avengers and as Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, ends up in hospital after being hit by a cyclist and begins to reveal details of her life, including a stint driving ambulances in African warzones.
Honor's appearance in Saturday's episode of the long-running BBC medical drama coincides with the introduction of a new character, a trainee doctor called Lily Chao, played by Crystal Yu.
The second episode of the new series of Casualty will see the introduction of another new character, a nurse called Rita Freeman, played by Chloe Howman, who is the daughter of Brush Strokes star Karl Howman.
Casualty executive producer Oliver Kent said: "We've had a long history of famous guest appearances, but never a Bond girl. Honor plays a fantastically witty and charming character on a mission. Meanwhile, our two new regular characters, Lily and Rita hit the ground running and are set to create a stir in the ED."
