Gavin & Stacey stars Rob Brydon, Ruth Jones and Joanna Page were among the famous faces on the red carpet to celebrate the official launch of this year's Red Nose Day. Comedienne Jo Brand and presenters Steve Jones, Claudia Winkleman and Carol Vorderman were also in London's Leicester Square urging people to Do Something Funny for Money, in aid of Comic Relief on March 13. Ruth and Rob are teaming up with Welsh warbler Tom Jones for one of the official Red Nose Day singles, Islands In The Stream, available to download from March 8, and on CD from March 9. Girl group The Saturdays will also be releasing a version of Depeche Mode's I Just Can't Get Enough, out on March 3. Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two host Claudia and T4's Steve will be presenting Let's Dance for Comic Relief, in which celebrities will strut their stuff for the cause, with viewers voting - and raising money - for the star they would like to see in the final. Former Countdown presenter Carol Vorderman is one of 10 famous faces taking part in Comic Relief Does The Apprentice, where stars must raise as much cash as they can for Red Nose Day - or get fired! Also among the highlights for this year's event will be The BT Red Nose Climb, which sees nine celebrities - including Take That singer Gary Barlow and Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole - embark on an eight-day trek to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. Of course, it is COMIC relief, and providing some of the laughs on the night will be Ricky Gervais, and the casts of Gavin & Stacey, The Royle Family, Little Britain and Outnumbered. You can purchase one of three Red Noses from branches of Sainsbury's, Oxfam or online at www.rednoseday.com/shop. Red Noses cost £1 with at least 70p from each one sold going to Comic Relief.
