Corrie star Ryan Thomas fined over drunken nightclub row

Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas was arrested by police and fined for being drunk and disorderly after an alleged row at a nightclub.

The 31-year-old was held by officers and taken to the station cells before being slapped with a £90 fine and released.

The actor, who plays builder Jason Grimshaw in the ITV soap, was back in Manchester following the incident at the Wheelhouse Club and Lounge in Bowness-on-Windermere in the early hours of Sunday.

He had earlier posted photos to his 94,000 followers on his Instagram account of him climbing in the Lakes.

Hours later, police were called after trouble at the club in Cumbria.

Ryan was arrested, taken to Kendal police station’s cells and later that morning given the fine for being drunk and disorderly.

The actor had been in the Lakes with a group of friends before it 'kicked off' at the club and police arrived, according to reports.

Today Ryan thanked his yoga teacher for a 'great class' this morning, making no mention of the incident on his Instagram account.

He is scheduled to leave Coronation Street next summer after more than a decade in the show.

Cumbria Police said in a statement: “Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly.”
