Corrie's Bruno: 'I don't know what's happened to Todd, but he's had it rough'

Bruno Langley promises his Coronation Street alter ego Todd Grimshaw is set to cause plenty of drama when he returns to the soap next week.

The 30-year-old actor tells TV Times that Todd, the younger of Eileen Grimshaw's two sons, returns from London under a cloud. He's stolen cash from his ex-boyfriend, who tracks him down to his mum's place.

"I don't know the full story of what's happened to Todd, but he's had a rough time and he's got nowhere else to go," reveals Bruno.

"He has to come back to Weatherfield, but he doesn't really like it. He gets bored very easily, so he winds people up and causes dramas."

Todd was the first gay character in Coronation Street's history, and his memorable puckering up to a sleeping Nick Tilsley (then played by Adam Rickitt) was the soap's first ever gay kiss. So, why did he quit?

"There are a number of reasons, but I just felt my time was up and I needed to do other things," he says.
