Soap actress Claire King has hinted that there could be a possibility for legendary character Kim Tate to return to Emmerdale following her exit from Corrie.

Soap actress Claire King has teased at a possible return to Emmerdale following her exit from Coronation Street.

Claire famously played Kim Tate for ten years from 1989-1999. Kim was one of the soap's most popular characters, with many of her storylines revolving around her turbulent and volatile marriage to Frank Tate.

It has been 18 years since Claire was last seen on the Yorkshire Dales, but speaking on Good Morning Britain Claire said the door may still be open for her to return.

Speaking about leaving her role as Corrie's Erica Holroyd, Claire said: "It's been a dream come true to tread those famous cobbles.

"I was only meant to stay for six weeks initially, so for Erica to be so popular that she stayed for three years and even worked in The Rovers was a real compliment to me as an actress."

According to rumours, Erica will leave Weatherfield and flee to Spain after her affair with Kevin Webster is revealed to Dev.

Hinting at a possible return to the Dales, Claire said: "I think it's just one of those things where the family is moving out, and I'm leaving Corrie so people have put two and two together.

"The door isn't locked so never say never."
