Former Casualty star Christopher Colquhoun is joining Coronation Street as the new fiance of Dev Alahan's ex-wife Sunita. Christopher begins filming this week in the role of Matt Davis. According to The Sun, Corrie bosses are lining up plenty of confrontations between Dev (Jimmi Harkashin) and Matt when the shop owner discovers Sunita's (Shobna Gulati) marriage plans. A source told the newspaper: "Shobna and Christopher are delighted at the prospect of working together. There's a terrific chemistry between them and they are a perfect match physically and mentally." Christopher is best known for playing Simon Kaminski in Casualty between 2002 and 2004. He also appeared in Holby City in the same role. Shobna left Coronation Street in 2006, but is reprising her role this year.
