Les Dennis to join the cast of Coronation Street

Les Dennis is joining the cast of Coronation Street, playing petty criminal Michael Rogers.

Coronation Street are keeping the storyline secret, but Michael will find himself caught up in the lives of a family on the street after breaking into their house.

Les said: “I've loved it since the beginning. I grew up watching all the amazing characters in the show. I now not only have the chance of meeting them, but also working with them. It doesn't get better than that."

Les will start filming on Coronation Street this Monday and will appear on screen in late March.

Coronation Street series producer Stuart Blackburn said: “Les is a fantastic performer and a real coup for Corrie. I can't wait for him to join the team.”

Les, currently on tour in a production of The Perfect Murder, has a varied CV in TV. He has appeared in Midsomer Murders and Ricky Gervais comed Life's Too Short, as well as a memorable stint in Celebrit Big Brother.
