Coronation Street star Nigel Havers has said he receives sackloads of 'bizarre' fan mail for his role as escort Lewis Archer. The posh star has received explicit drawings and racy underwear, which he has to hide from his wife. He told the Mirror: "I have been getting sackfuls of fan mail - and some of it is very bizarre. "I've had women saying they want to take me out for dinner and then do, well, I don't know what! I've had lots of racy underwear sent to me, which I've had to hide from my missus, and I've received some explicit drawings. "There was one of me and this woman together in bed. Can you imagine what was going through her mind when she drew that? I haven't had that sort of mail for a long time - 20 years ago, in fact. It is extraordinary." Nigel, 60, said he could not be an escort in real life, as he is 'not good at emotional detachment'. He added that third wife Georgiana Bronfman isn't a fan of his kissing scenes in Coronation Street. Viewers have seen Lewis vow to leave his old life behind as he pursues a relationship with Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls). But he will next week kiss Deidre Barlow (Anne Kirkbride) to distract her from a betting scam he is carrying out in the bookie's.
