Coronation Street's Carla Connor (Alison King) has dug a huge hole for herself with her gambling addiction, and her old friend and cousin Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward) has turned up to help save her the ignominy of selling the Underworld factory. But even Aidan is shocked to discover the full extent of Carla's financial problems when a man turns up at the factory to repossess her car.

Will Aidan have a change of heart and decide he'll be backing a loser if he invests in Underworld?

As a depressed Carla watches her car being driven away, Aidan's clearly struggling to make sense of the situation he's walked into, while Sally Webster (Sally Dynevor) does her best to make light of things in front of the factory staff.

Having earlier admitted to Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) what dire financial straits she's in, Carla tries to put on a brave face in front of him and Aidan.

Fed up with Carla's self-pity, Nick later confronts her in the Underworld office and tells her to pull herself together and get a grip on things.

Carla struggles to accept the well-meaning advice, but Nick later tries to persuade Aidan the business can be successfully turned around if he supports her.

Later, Carla throws Aidan in at the deep end when she leaves him in charge of the factory. Is she secretly heading off to the casino?

When an irate client calls the office in Carla's absence, Aidan struggles to deal with things in front of Alya Nazir (Sair Khan).

The trainee office manager is amused to see how badly Aidan is coping. How will Aidan react… and will he be sold on buying into the failing business?
