Sam Robertson returns to Corrie as Adam Barlow
Coronation Street has announced the arrival of two more Barlows – Ken's son Daniel and grandson Adam – played by Rob Mallard and Sam Robertson
Weatherfield will soon be crowded with Barlows as Ken’s son Daniel and grandson Adam return to Coronation Street.
Viewers were already braced for the return of Ken’s troubled son Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) in October, but the house at No. 1 is to be full again.
After nine years away from the show, Sam Robertson will reprise his role as Adam Barlow.
Adam, the son of Ken’s late daughter Susan and Mike Baldwin, has been living in Canada since 2007.
Sam, who has also starred in E4′s Beaver Falls and was a contestant on 2013′s Celebrity Big Brother, said: “I’m delighted to be back, Coronation Street was my first job as an actor and is a special place for me.

“As a young actor it was a little overwhelming so I’m looking forward to coming back and stamping my mark on the character, I feel there’s unfinished business with Adam.”
Also joining him will be Fresh Meat and Emmerdale actor Rob Mallard, who has been cast as Daniel Osbourne.
Daniel, Ken’s son by Denise Osbourne, has not been seen since 2007 when he was played by Dominic Holmes.
Rob said: “It feels great to be starting work on Coronation Street and I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone.
“I grew up watching Coronation Street, so the chance to be in it, especially playing a part like Daniel, is very exciting.”
Adam and Daniel will make their first appearances in November.
Corrie producer Kate Oates said: “I am delighted to have Sam back, his time away from Weatherfield has hardened Adam and although he is a Barlow, the Baldwin genes are evident from the moment he arrives.
“Daniel is a different Barlow altogether, more sensitive and bookish, he is clearly a chip off the old block, but there is more to Ken’s youngest son than meets the eye. Rob is a talented young actor who is perfect for the role.”
Having different generations under one roof at No. 1 should lead to plenty of drama, she predicted.
“The Barlows have been at the centre of Coronation Street since it started in 1960 and I felt it was time to remind ourselves of the dynasty that Ken has built up over the past 50 years,” Kate explained.
“I am excited about the dynamics of having the different generations living together and exploring the drama that will bring.”
