The line-up for Dancing On Ice has only just been announced - but already the celebrity contestants have suffered some painful injuries in training. Ex-Emmerdale star Linda Lusardi has had the worst of it - skating through gritted teeth after breaking a bone in her foot during a nasty fall. Coming off the ice and putting on a pair of comfy shoes, Linda said: "I dislocated my foot and broke a metatarsal - hence the granny shoes. I had to spend Christmas without my high heels, which was more traumatic than breaking my foot! "I've missed about six weeks of training so I'm a little bit behind but I'm catching up fast. "I did fall on my head a couple of days ago too, trying to do a spin. "But I'm a bit game so I'll probably go for everything that's thrown at me." How Clean Is Your House? busy-body Aggie MacKenzie has also been in the wars. "I've had lots of injuries. I have to wear a permanent support on my left knee. I've got bruised ribs, a sore back, and I can't turn over in bed without groaning," she said. Other injuries include torn ligaments, twisted knees and bruised legs. Pop Idol star Gareth Gates said he had a 'very bruised bottom' after repeatedly falling over on the ice. Gareth got engaged to his dancer girlfriend Suzanne Mole on New Year's Eve and joked: "I'm looking forward to the wedding but I certainly won't be skating down the aisle." Meanwhile, Dancing On Ice tutors Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are tipping Hollyoaks star Chris Fountain and former Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw as early favourites to win this year's competition. Chris, the soap's Justin Burton, has a head start - he spent two years playing ice hockey for Bradford.
