Luke Campbell third in Ice final

Luke Campbell has finished in third place in the 2013 Dancing On Ice final - losing out to fellow contestants Beth Tweddle and Matt Lapinskas.

The Olympic boxer lost out after receiving the lowest number of public votes following the first half of the show - which saw all of the finalists perform two routines each.

The result left Matt and Beth to go on and perform Torvill and Dean's Bolero in their final bid for the series title - while Luke and skating partner Jenna Smith missed out on the opportunity.

However he took the defeat graciously, saying: "It's been a fantastic experience, I've loved every minute of it, and I've learned new skills for life."

Luke had been the outsider to win the competition, with bookies offering odds of 40-1 on him being crowned series champion.

Earlier in the show he had performed a 'showcase' routine which saw him line dance to Crazy Little Thing Called Love, joined by other professional skaters from the series.

He also reprised his routine to One Direction's Little Things from earlier in the series.

"You have grown with every performance, not only with skill but with confidence," Karen Barber told him, while Robin Cousins added: "It was so much fun to finally see you come out of your shell."
