Torvill and Dean 'glad' to reveal all about teen fling

Dancing On Ice duo Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have admitted relief at their secret teenage romance having become public knowledge.

The pair had kept their fling private until Christopher confessed to it during an interview on Piers Morgan's Life Stories in 2013, saying they had 'dabbled slightly' before meeting other partners.

And speaking at the launch of the final series of the ITV show Jayne said: "Chris revealed it and I'm glad it's out there.

"I don't mind that it came out. Everybody knows and I don't have a problem with it."

The skater added: "Chris didn't know he was going to say anything like that.

"It's the way the questions were going and this was a spontaneous answer to that."

Christopher described his relationship with Jayne as 'unusual', adding: "At the same time, of course, we love each other. You wouldn’t be able to do all that we do without love.”

The final, all-star edition of Dancing On Ice kicks off on ITV at 6.15pm on Sunday night.
