Alien star Sigourney Weaver has filmed an unlikely cameo in Cornish comedy-drama Doc Martin.

Footage online shows the Hollywood actress sharing a scene with the show’s star Martin Clunes.

She joined the crew of the hit ITV show in Port Isaac, Cornwall, last week.

An ITV spokeswoman confirmed her appearance, but refused to comment on her role.

Oscar-nominated Sigourney, who shot to fame playing Ripley in science fiction classic Alien, has appeared in numerous films including Ghostbusters and Gorillas In The Mist.
