Actor Craig Fairbrass has said that he will always be grateful to EastEnders for his time on the show - and he hasn't ruled out a return to Albert Square.
The 49-year-old's character Dan Sullivan left Walford in 2001 after being involved in a love triangle with Carol and Bianca Jackson.
However the actor - who appears alongside rockers Status Quo in the new cinema caper Bula Quo! - admitted that he is still asked about the soap over a decade later.
"A lot of people ask me about returning to EastEnders," Craig revealed.
"At the moment I've just finished my first lead in an American action film, The Outsider. I've got five other movies coming out, all independent films, but people ask me about EastEnders a lot.
He added: "I'm very very grateful to EastEnders. It came at a time in my life when I had two young children and it saved my life. So I'll always be indebted to it. So you never know."
However a comeback is unlikely to occur in the near future since Craig is taking time out from his career to spend time with his father.

"At the moment my dad's battling cancer so since February my life's on hold. I'm at the hospital every day and that's more important," the actor said.
"I'm just grateful to work. The films come along and every now and again you do what you want to do."
