EastEnders star Ricky Groves has revealed the real love of his character Garry Hobbs' life is his best friend Minty Peterson. Viewers have seen Garry's girlfriend Dawn Swann (Kara Tointon) have an affair with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden). But the actor said Garry's heart really lies with the lovable mechanic. He told the BBC1 soap's official website: "The true love of Garry's life I would probably say, hand on heart, is his best mate Minty (Cliff Parisi), because he's known Minty longer. "He likes the ladies, and he likes Dawn, but you can't beat a mate to have a pint with." Even so, Ricky admitted Garry would be devastated if he knew Dawn had cheated on him. And, with both characters set to leave the soap, he said the chances of a happy ending for the couple are slim. "Happy Ever After doesn't very often happen in Walford. With Garry and Dawn let's just keep our fingers crossed that they do tend to make it, but nine times out of 10 it will go wrong."
