Ex-EastEnder to star in Heartbeat
Fans of EastEnders will recognise a familiar face among the regulars of cosy rural drama Heartbeat on Christmas Eve. Lindsey Coulson - aka Carol Jackson - guest stars in the last episode of the current run. She plays Denise, a member of the local flower show committee. After their latest meeting, a sniper attacks and Sally Pringle (Elizabeth Mansfield) is shot. Lindsey enjoyed a three-year stint in the Walford-based soap, as her character Carol struggled to raise four children. Since leaving in 1999, the actress has gone from strength to strength, with a varied array of roles. She popped up in editions of Judge John Deed and Manchild, as well as the dramas Every Time You Look At Me, She's Gone and The Stepfather. Coulson also landed the juicy role of DC Rosie McManus in the ITV1 crime thriller series MIT: Murder Investigation Team. More recent appearances include The Girls Who Came to Stay, The Street and The Inspector Lynley Mysteries. Lindsey still has one strong connection to EastEnders. Her hubby Harry is the brother of actress Patsy Palmer, who played Lindsey's on-screen daughter Bianca in the soap.
